Who We Are

In response to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Catholic Charities, as a ministry of the Archdioceses of Newark, serves the poor and marginalized and advocates for their needs in order to promote the inherent dignity and worth of all people without regard to race, religion, or culture.

What We Do

The Immigration Assistance program provides direct legal representation to clients with immigration needs by providing free and low-cost legal assistance in all phases of immigration proceedings, including representation in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court.  Program staff provide educational workshops to groups on immigration law and current immigration issues.

Children and Youth is funded by NJ DHS, this program provides legal representation and case management to unaccompanied immigrant children and similarly situated youth in New Jersey.

Immigration Court Helpdesk and Family Group Legal Orientation Program is for unrepresented individuals and families in removal proceedings, these programs offer group and individual orientations on court practices, procedures, and general information about optioned related to relief and protection from removal.

Legal Orientation Program for Custodians is a program for sponsor(s) who will take care of a released immigrant child, our program provides information relating to:

  • Immigration Court Proceedings,
  • Social Services,
  • Medical and Mental Health Resources,
  • and Free and Low-Cost Legal Services,
